I am 26 and a single mother of two wonderful children. I have a son, Monster (not his real name), and a daughter that we often refer to as The Tank. They are 5 and 3 and full of life and bring more joy to my life than I could have ever imagined. During Monster's year at a private school Pre-Kindergarten program, I stumbled upon the idea of home-schooling the kids. The more I looked in to it, the more I knew that it was exactly what I wanted for my children. However, Monster's school decisions are not entirely up to me. The decision was made to keep him home for another year (as his birthday is just two weeks before school starts!) and home-school a K5 year. Its only a year, but I am soooo excited and will continue to after-school him when he starts Kindergarten next year. I now have a new addiction to curriculum and can fulfill my desire to buy books at an alarming rate :)
I decided to start a blog to not only document this uncharted journey of home-school, but also to keep family and friends (some very skeptical and negative) up to date on what we accomplish this year.
